Michael Baker
Chief Banking Officer & Rome Market President
A native of Adairsville, Georgia, Michael Baker is a veteran community banker, beginning his banking career in 1983. He moved to Rome, Georgia in 1986 and has served in various key leadership roles, including CEO, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for several Georgia-based community banks.
Baker is a graduate of Jacksonville State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management. He earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Jacksonville State University and completed studies at the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University.
A firm believer in giving back to the community, Baker has been active in a number of civic and community organizations, including service as President of the Kiwanis Club of Rome, Finance Chairman of Rome First United Methodist Church, President of The William S. Davies Homeless Shelter and Treasurer of The Sexual Assault Center of Northwest Georgia.
